Acl / Mcl Tear

ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) tears are common injuries treated at Ortho Vision Physiotherapy Clinic, a leading pain management clinic in Jaipur. These ligament injuries often occur during activities that involve sudden stops, jumps, or changes in direction, such as sports. An ACL tear affects the ligament that connects the thigh bone to the shin bone at the knee, while an MCL tear affects the ligament on the inside of the knee that provides stability

Causes of ACL/MCL Tears:

  • Sudden Changes in Movement: Rapid direction changes, stops, or awkward landings.
  • Direct Impact: Direct blows to the knee, common in contact sports.
  • Overuse: Repeated stress on the knee joint.
  • Improper Technique: Poor technique in sports or physical activities.

Symptoms of ACL/MCL Tears:

  • Pain: Severe pain in the knee at the time of injury.
  • Swelling: Rapid swelling within a few hours of the injury.
  • Instability: Feeling of the knee “giving way” or instability.
  • Limited Range of Motion: Difficulty fully bending or straightening the knee.
